Swamp white oak is a less abundant white oak species that typically inhabits lowland swamps and is more common further south. It is notable for its extremely low tannin acorns which require minimal leaching compared to other oak species. From our limited observation, these are not quite as productive as other oak, but their low tannins do make up for it. We have New Jersey Ecotype seedlings.
