Indian grass is a native warm season grass that does most of its growing during the warmest weather. It is a major component of late succession meadows and can get over 5 feet tall in the right conditions. It is the latest of all the warm season grasses, providing a flush of growth in mid to late summer, followed by beautiful golden seedheads and foliage in fall. This is also a palatable plant for livestock and a useful support/biomass plant in polyculture plantings. As a bunch grass, it does not spread aggressively, making it a good plant to fill space next to crops.
Note: these will come as bareroot plants. Grasses have inconspicuous fibrous roots, so they may appear small, be sure not to tangle the roots when planting.
