Hybrid Hazelnut

Hazelnuts are productive shrubs which produce well even in short growing seasons and are great shrubs for hillside plantings in sunny locations in the Catskills. We have healthy hazelnuts growing in multiple different soil types, although well-drained soil is preferred for nut production and overall health. In the Catskills, hazelnuts will begin to produce nuts in 4-5 years. They can grow up to 20 ft tall but are very tolerant of pruning to any size. 

These hybrid hazelnut bareroot seedlings are grown from seeds coming from Twisted Tree Farm and are a selection from highly productive bushes with original genetics originating in the Midwest.
