Currants

Currants are a delicious and productive group of berries in the ribes family. We have plants propagated from our original trial planting. Unfortunately the tags wore off over time, so we can only keep track of them at the species level. For this reason, we are only selling these in state (New York only). We have red currant, black currant, and jostaberry. Our black currants are white pine blister rust resistant. At our nursery, currants have done well on a variety of soils, but they do best on moist well-drained soil. Black currants are our most productive and hardy species.
