Common Milkweed

Common milkweed is an abundant wildflower often found in old fields. It is common in part because it is not very palatable to deer and other wild animals. It is the primary host plant for monarch butterflies, and its abundance is very helpful in maintaining their populations. Milkweed is a great addition to any wildlfower garden, especially if you hope to attract monarchs.
